A canvas for useful designs.Hal Grano and Jillian Kaufman-Grano started making cavas product in 1990. A result of a synthesis of Jillian's background in fashion and Hal's appreciation for the sturdy and useful canvas bags and clothing that he used as a canoe guide in Maine for many summers.
Their product line started with a portfolio carry-all when Jillian needed a bag to carry both art supplies and presentation materials. That's when they both found a common passion for canvas and a desire to moved to the Hudson Valley and began living and developing the "utility canvas lifestyle".

"Canvas is a sturdy tightly woven material. It has a history as an industrial material. It's simple construction makes it naturally water resistant and durable. When we quilt it and garment dye it, it can actually be soft and cozy and still retain its durability. It lasts, and inspires us to create designs to match."
